Fan Expo Update

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

So here it is. We’re trying to bring some fancy schmancy stuff to our table at the Convention. We lucked out and got a corner table, so we’ll be right along the main aisle, near the ‘Corporate’ Alley - neither of us are sure what that means. Irregardless, we’ll be bringing a ‘FanExpo Exclusive’ Sample book with some of the favorites of the past year, some stickers flyers - and if Cafepress comes through for us, some shirts.

I’m really looking forward to doing this. I’ve never really been all into being an attendee, as I’ve never really been heavily invested in most of the stuff that goes on in there - but now that I’m starting to feel like I’ve got a toehold in this realm, I’m really excited to meet some of the people I’ve been reading about, or just reading/watching. On television, I’m not a stalker.

I’ll be doing sketches for monetary reimbursement, but I haven’t isolated what price range I should be charging for this stuff. If you have some suggestions, fire them off in the comments section!

Pray for us,

J.

Fan Expo 2008 Sketchbook!

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Well friends, there we have it. Fan Expo 2008 has come to a close, and though it truly is my favourite time of the year, I don’t think I could have lasted much longer. My legs and back are killing me, my throat feels like a cheese grater, and you know what? I wouldn’t change a Gosh-Darn thing.

Much like we did last year, we are going to take a bit of a break from out normal nonsensical story-telling, and show you some of the sweet sketches that were inspired, commissioned, or born at this year’s Expo.

We met a ton of amazing people, got to hang with some old friends, and had an amazing time hobnobbing with some of comic’s elite. Over the course of the week, I’ll relay some of the better stories, and be sure to join and check out the Facebook group where I’ve posted a bunch of pics!

This first sketch represented the first of a few repeat customers we had this year, and it is such a thrill to know that people not only like what we do, but remember us for it the next year. Also, apparently the sketch we did for them last year was bootlegged on a whole bunch of other sites. Part of me thinks that’s cool. Another part of me is filled with murderous rage.

Fortunately the majority of me is filled with nothing but exhaustion, so that’s probably what I’m going to act on.
