As is our annual tradition here at No Reason and across the world, we pause on the 11th of November to observe and remember the great sacrifices that have been made for us by the men and women of the Armed Forces.

This is always a special day, but this year there is something that brings it all into focus even more. My family and I have just learned that my brother who has been serving his second Tour of Duty in Afghanistan is on his way home, safe and sound. With the Canadian involvement in the Afghan campaign winding down, this will probably be his last in that theatre, but he’s still a soldier and is ready to answer the call whenever and wherever it may be. This makes me insanely proud of him, and him a better man than I could ever hope to be. It’s strange to look up to your younger brother, but I do.

So, with that good news in our minds, it only strengthens the gratitude we feel and the respect we have for these brave souls, especially those who have not returned from their duties and those who have paid the ultimate price.

Let the images speak for themselves today.
