And welcome back!

As we continue our 5th Birthaversary Celebrations, we’ve been asking a few of our pals in the comics world to put their spin on No Reason in our first ever Guest Strip extravaganza!

Today’s page comes to us from a very cool gentleman by the name of Rus Wooton. I work with Rus on a regular basis on Gutters, and he is a guy who works with some of the best in the comics world on a daily basis, but is humble enough that when I asked him if he’d like to do a strip his first comment was “I hope I don’t f%$k it up.”

Rus Wooton is a comic creator best known for his lettering work on THE GUTTERS and books like THE WALKING DEAD, INVINCIBLE, BUTCHER BAKER and countless others from Marvel, Image, Dark Horse and Radical. An artist for as long as he can remember, Rus got degrees in Fine Arts and Art Education from the University of South Florida in 1996 and then went into freelancing, then working as Wizard’s web designer for three years, then to freelancing again. He’s been lettering since 2003 and draws and writes whenever he can. He is fueled by coffee, Dr Pepper, spicy Korean noodles and rock ‘n’ roll.

I’ve learned a lot working with the various artists that we have had the pleasure of dealing with on Gutters. But I have to say, I never truly appreciated the art of lettering until working with Rus. There is a true talent involved in this critical, and oft overlooked, aspect of comics and if I may say, Rus is definitely one of the best in the biz.

He has to be, have you seen how many words that Kirkman guy puts in to a comic?

Stay tuned my friends, the fun ain’t over yet!
