I’d be lying if I said today hasn’t been a bit trying.
It’s been one of those days where you feel like you’re swimming upstream in ass-creek and getting hit by hole-boulders the whole way. I’ve had to interact with some truly incredible people today, and before you think this is a case of Retail Rage, no it’s not customers.
Why do I bring this up? To bum you out? To drag you into a bog of negative blog-pouts? To vent and get something off my chest?
No, I bring this up so that I may remind you of something. I want to remind you of the people in your life who can break the gray shackles of a day like that. Because, you see, I was drowning in ass-creek, but a fun chat with my partner in crime, and a visit from a couple of good friends totally turned it around for me.
It was one of those days where not only did I find it easier to wallow in my own irritability, but I didn’t really want to do anything to make it a better day. With little positivity injected into the day though I was reminded that I’ve got some amazing and wonderful people on my side, and that the best revenge is always to be the one that walks away with a smile, head held high. Every now and again, I need to be reminded of that.
So maybe I’ll be able to remind you of someone in your life who can turn around a gray day. Do yourself a favour and give them a call. You never know when the gray’s going to hit, and it never hurts to get out in front of it.
Also, I got a butt-load of SPAM e-mails today. That’s not really related, but I thought it was strange.
