As we finish out the week, I hope you have enjoyed our Barista friend’s antics. I can tell you that she is based on a particularly amazing waitress that @rezebram, Nick and myself ran into one night in Montreal. The way her story played out is very similar to what you’ve seen here, and I have to say I think about her a lot. What happened to her, what drove her so entertainingly crazy? These are questions that I’ll probably never get the answer to, so instead I’ll probably make some of my own answers up. That’s kinda what I do.

Any way, as the weekend approaches Montreal is taking a collective breath before ushering Les Canadiens into the Eastern Conference Finals. Since I’ve grown up a Leafs fan, it’s been a while since I’ve experienced Playoff Fever like this. I think that the closest thing I’ve got to go on is the Leafs 2002 run to the conference finals, only to lose to the Hurricanes (who then took home the Cup). It’s an incredible experience to get caught up in all the madness, but I have to say: Montreal, enough with the riots.

At least until they win the Cup.

Either way, it’s been an exhilarating run and I love myself a good underdog, so it’s pretty cool to see The Habs moving forward as they’ve done. Though I call Montreal home now, I do hope that the Leafs get their act together and become a contender again. It would be fantastic to see that once-storied franchise build itself back up to prominence.

On a final note before I split for what promises to be a rainy weekend, I want to echo Jamie’s sentiments below regarding the recent Webcomics app. It was something of a bittersweet honour to be included in this app, but the most rewarding part was seeing how many people jumped up to the defense of us and the other creators impacted. I agree with Jaime that there is a place for a webcomics app if done right, and maybe one day there will be. In the meantime though, it feels really good to know you guys have our backs out there.

You’re all something pretty special, and because we can never say it enough, Thank You.
