This weekend I will be attempting a feat of daring so great, Evil Knevil himself would shudder. It will take all my mental and physical strength, all my cunning and know-how, but I’m going to do it. I’ve made up my mind and I’m going to see it through.
That’s right, I’m going to drive the Smart Car from Montreal to Toronto.
I’m actually looking forward to seeing what the Smart Car (who I’ve named Iris, after Barry Allen’s girlfriend) can do on the open road. I know it can keep the speed up, and there are all kinds of clubs for people who like to road trip in them, so we’ll see how it goes.
The other reason I’m embarking on this escapade is this weekend’s Toronto Comic Con, on at the Direct Energy Center. It’s the first time convention organizers Wizard Entertainment have done a show in Canada, and I’m curious to see what they bring to the table. There has been a general sense of distaste from many attendees of Wizard shows in the past, but I think this will be a good one. Even if it is just because it’s the first and they want to make a good impression. I’ll be there with my Watchtower co-host on Sunday, so if you run into some dudes that look like us, it might just be us.
Speaking of The Watchtower, this week (along with our special extended episode with comics artist Cameron Stewart) we launched a brand new website! Designed of course by Jamie, it’s one of the slickest, most modern looking sites I’ve ever seen. It looks like the future, more than a step above the average blog/podcast site. Slip on over and check it out, you wont be disappointed.
So that’s what’s happening here. You go out and enjoy yourself this weekend, or you’ll have me to answer to.
Well, I might pass it off to an intern, but I’ll be reviewing their work, so be on your best behaviour.
