I did it. I made it through another weekend.
First off, a huge thanks to everyone who came out to The 4th Wall this weekend to have a yak with Danielle Corsetto. It was a blast having Danielle around, and a blast seeing so many webcomic fans in the store! We’re going to have a lot more of these events in the future so stay tuned!!
I have found myself spending the evening resting up and watching the coverage of the Vancouver Olympics. It was so hard to see some of our athletes get so close to medals, and in some cases Gold medals, only to miss it by fractions.
What I find so fascinating about the Olympics is the experience of watching so many different sports that I normally wouldn’t get a chance to see, and also how quickly I seem to become an expert in those sports.
One thing that is kind of a bummer though is the commentary that’s being done on the various sports. So far they seem to have a sportscaster of some kind paired up with a former competitor in whatever sport they’re talking about. The problem is that the former athletes seem to only be able to pick out the mistakes that each competitor is making. Their observances seem overwhelmingly negative, which is suppose can be the nature of critique, but honestly, just kind of gets annoying.
That and the fact they’re showing the Olympics on three channels in Canada, but not telling you what sport is on which channel. That’s also kind of annoying.
But the big nut, Men’s Hockey, starts up on Tuesday and that’s when most of this country will take notice of the Olympics. Unless there’s another round of people bitching about the Opening Ceremonies, and I’ll say to them what I said before:
PHHHHHHHHHFTB!!
