So I said on Monday that I had something I wanted to talk to you all about. It’s kind of a big deal, so I’ve been struggling with how to best to get it out there. As our family of readers has grown here at No Reason, the bigger things in my life that I’ve mentioned on this site have always seemed to be more real to me once I’ve told all of you.

So with that said, for the last 6 years I have worked at Newstalk 1010 CFRB here in Toronto, as a Talk Show Technical Director. I grew up listening to talk radio, scanning the dial late at night in the summer to pull in AM signals from all over the eastern seaboard. I really feel that Talk Radio is the most intimate form of media, entertaining and informative.

When I decided to make Radio my career, I immediately knew I wanted to work at CFRB. Over it’s 80+ year history, CFRB has grown into the biggest talk station in Canada, and one of the most famous in North America. By working there I’ve gotten to work and learn from some of the best in the business, experience first-hand some incredible events in our history, and make some wonderful and life-long friends.

This Friday will be my last day at CFRB and in Radio.

After 6 years, lots of blood and an equal amount of tears, it’s time to move on. I have thought long and hard about this decision, and it was not one that I came to lightly. But what, you may ask, comes next?

Well, I am moving to Montreal, and opening a Comic Book Shop.

More details will be forthcoming, but it involves Blind Ferret Entertainment, and a whole new approach to comics retailing. It will be a shop unlike any other in the world, and fulfill a dream of mine to work for myself and bring a breath of fresh air into an industry I love.

The move and the change in career and lifestyle will be difficult, but I could not be more excited (and terrified!) to be doing this. It’s a whole new world, and one that will include huge new oppourtunities for No Reason and The Watchtower, and give us a new way to grow the comic that we love putting together for you.

So there it is. The store will be called The 4th Wall, be located in the heart of Montreal’s West Island and as we get things off the ground, all the details will be available to you right here.

And once again, thank you for being here. For reading our stuff, and letting me share this moment with you all. This is just the beginning, I assure, and what comes next will blow your mind!

Y’know, like this:
