And the plot thickens! Or at least moves forward. Have I mentioned how much fun I’m having with this storyline? It’s so much fun to be able to make stuff up and be more over-the-top than usual, in a totally different way. Plus, one of my favourite things in the world are old radio serials. The Shadow, Dragnet, X-Minus-One, and all those stories are so much fun to listen to, and still stand up today. It’s a blast to dabble in that world a little bit.

Speaking of dabbling, I’m sure you are all enjoying a dabble or two of whatever it is you enjoy dabbling in on this fine Labour Day Monday. It always seemed to me to be something of a strange contradiction to have a day off dedicated to celebrating work, especially since I have to work every Labour Day. But I’m not bitter. No, not bitter at all. Especially as I sit here on the dock at the cottage, under a gorgeous blue sky, feeling the cool breeze blow off of the lake. Yeah, can’t wait to get back to work…

But something did happen yesterday that was pretty noteworthy: I captured a Pirate vessel! We were sitting on the dock, when we noticed a small red boat out in the bay that seemed to be having trouble. Being the good neighbours that we are, we hopped in our boat and zipped out to lend a hand. When we go there though, we noticed that it was flying the ol’ Jolly Roger!!

Immediately, I threw a line to the stranded craft and declared it captured, in the name of the Queen! We towed it to shore and nary a shot was fired. I felt like Russell Crowe in Master and Commander.

I never saw that movie though, it all works out OK in the end, right?
