Let this be a lesson to any and all of you who think you can escape the power of a good man-hug. Resistance is futile. Just let it happen, and in the end you’ll find you’re better off for it.
OK, I have a whole hodge-podge of things to get to here. It’s been a while since I did a music post, so initially I wanted to mention a few bands/artists you should check out:
Tim Barry – Laurel St Demo
The Knockdown – Test/Retest
Drag The River – Live at The Starlight
The Hold Steady – Stay Positive
Then, I thought to myself “nah, I’d rather do a comic post!” But not graphic novels, I’ve done that. I want to talk about some of the best Mini-series comic books I’ve been getting:
-Flash: Rebirth
-Destroyer
-New Avengers: The Reunion
-And soon, of course, The Blackest Night.
But then, I was like “that’s whack… the series/season finale of Scrubs was on this week! That’s huge!”
Scrubs has long been one of my favourite shows, and I am so glad that they got the chance to say goodbye properly. It was a well-written, funny and touching finale that stands up next to any other episode in the series. That said, I hope the rumours that they are considering another season are false. Sometimes we have to just let go of these things, and I’d rather they left on the high note that they showed this week, then sit through another season or spin-off that wouldn’t be nearly as good (Joey anyone?)
Bill Lawrence consistently creates dynamic, funny, and sincere shows that are truly unique in the vast world of TV crap. I am sad to see Scrubs go, but like Joss Whedon, I am always going to be anxiously waiting to see what Lawrence comes up with next!
