Sometimes to ensure peace you must prepare for War. Or in this case, prepare for some ass-kickin’.

I’ll be honest with you, I’ve been trying to write this post for about 2 and a half hours now, but every time I get a few lines in I’m distracted by the gorgeous day outside my window. One can only hope that it stays this way through the weekend, because we have something special planned!

Every year, on the first Saturday in May, those of us in the comic book world gather for a magical even called “Free Comic Book Day.” This event was started 2002 as a way to get people into comic stores, and has exploded in the short time since. This year, there are almost FORTY books available, from Marvel, DC, Image, Dabel Brothers, Arcana, Archie, Darkhorse, IDW, and more. Many of the publishers have even gone as far as to produce brand new issues and stories, featuring some of their biggest characters (Green Lantern, and The Avengers for example.) The best part? Everyone of these stories and books is absolutely FREE. All you have to do is show up!

Never ones to miss a party, we will be celebrating Free Comic Book Day as we did last year, at Image Collections in Streetsville, Ontario (181 Queen St S, to be exact). There will be us, and panels, and us, and gaming, and us, and other creators, and us, and sketches, all done out in the sun on what we’re hoping are a great day! Last year, things got a little soggy, but we still had a blast.

Copies of No Reason #0 will be available for sale and signage, and if you wanted to get a copy, now is the time. The print run is approaching its end, and when they’re gone, they’re gone!

All right, I’m going to give in to fate. It’s way too nice not to be outside. I want to enjoy it now before the humidity hits… and we all know it will…

    Clearly.

OH man, if only! Though, I would look kinda dumb in the unitard.
