You know, I think that vans have gotten a bad rap over the years.
Back in the heyday of the van (and the mullet coincidentally) they were works of art, covered in the most beautiful murals of wolves and Viking women. Then the whole Minivan craze in the late 80’s and early 90’s branded them a “family” vehicles, not suitable for young, hip dudes looking to get out and have some fun on a Friday night. Now vans are most closely associated with gas-guzzling, and pedophiles.
No more I say.
It’s time to take back the van! And the RV! And the zebra-striped spandex pants! OK, not the pants. But the rest of it must be reclaimed for the long-distance road traveller.
Maybe this is just me being sentimental for days gone by; maybe it’s me trying to recapture the lost innocence of a time before hybrids. Or maybe we’re about to embark on a bit of a trip, and I want to make sure my ass is as comfortable as it can be. Maybe.

Mini Murph! Optimus Prime!
Seriously though, I am about to head out on a bit of a road trip. Our dear friend Lar and I will be hitting the open road next Friday and heading down to New England for Webcomics Weekend. I have no idea what it’s going to entail, but if you check out their webpage, you can see that some cool folks will be in attendance, so it should be a good time. Pictures and video will be taken in abundance, so be prepared!
Now, before I split I’d like to share with you the greatest birthday present I’ve ever gotten. Ladies and gentlemen, behold! Mini-Murph!!
There are some more pics on my facebook, so be sure the join the group and add me as a friend!
