Yeah, I’m re-thinking that whole “no scorpions” thing about now.

OK, so I need to do some Watchtower pimping here. This week’s show is going to be pretty cool. Not only will we have the fan-favourite Donnie Does Trinity, but noted movie critic Richard Crouse will be joining us to give us the lowdown on Watchmen. He’s seen the movie already, and the reason I mention this is that he can review it from the perspective of someone who has never read the book.

Watchmen is sort of the comic-geek bible, and those who have read hold it near and dear, to the point that this was in fact declared to be “The comic book movie that should never be made.” Author Alan Moore has long disavowed any association with the production, but also Alan Moore is craaaaaaaazy.

Anyway, I think that it’s going to be a great movie. With Zack Snyder at the helm, I am sure that it will at the very least look stunning. The story however, I’m not sure about. There is a LOT of stuff jammed in to the 12 chapters of Watchmen, and even at an almost 3 hour running time, I kinda wonder how they will get it all in and still make it cohesive for those who have never had the pleasure, nay, they joy of reading the book themselves.

The movie comes out this Friday, but if I’m living right, by then I will have seen it (at least once) at a press screening, and can give you my impressions on the movie from the comic, and non-comic fan perspective. But be sure to tune into The Watchtower this week, as Richard will be able to review the flick way more eloquently than I will.

Also just an FYI, should the world ever look up at me and say “Save me,” my answer would also be “no.” Mainly because that would require interrupting nap time.

Seriously, I need that nap.

PS – I take one afternoon offline, and Paul Harvey dies, and the Patriots trade Mike Vrabel and Matt Cassel. WTF?!?!?
