Hang on just as sec, I gotta get this… Hello?
Yes… no… well, I-…. OK. As long as it isn’t contagious, then we’re in the clear right? … I see… that many, huh? …OK, take it out of the- … right… OK, see ya.
Sorry about that, it was my Mom.
Anyway, I’ve noticed recently that the subjects that people tend to talk about on their cell phones are becoming more and more personal. Not that I mind really, it’s always good to know who I should stand back from should they start coughing.
So for the last 10+ years, I have been going to the same small store in my hometown to buy my comics. Once a week, I slip into the ol’ Murphmobile and zip out to see Todd and the gang at Image Collections. Sadly though, as times get tougher, and finances get tighter, a man is forced to look at what he’s got in his life that he can cut back on.
For me, that’s comics. I have been letting my “To Buy” list get longer and longer, and now I’m at a point where I have to be financially responsible and cut back. Yeeech, I feel dirty just saying that.
Anyway, this means that since I’m only going to be buying a few books a week, it’s not really worth the drive out to see my old friends. So this past weekend, I cancelled my Pull list at Image Collections. Kind of a bummer, since they have taken such good care of me over the years, but times change, and the wheel rolls on as Waylon used to say.
Speaking of which, we’re coming up on Convention season pretty soon. Anyone know about any decent smaller shows in your area that we can look into hitting up?
