It was a wonderful moment… for sport of course. Has anyone been following the Euros on right now? I don’t know much about soccer, but I really do enjoy the national tournaments. I love how every gets behind their nation, or their adopted nation as it were. For myself, since the Irish didn’t make any inroads this time around, I think that I am going to throw my support behind Croatia. I make this decision based solely on a conversation I had with a cabbie recently, in which he said that “Croatia is great because they play like the Irish.” Now, why the Irish aren’t great for playing like the Irish, I don’t know. Either way though, it looks to be an exciting tournament.
I had a million things to talk about, and now that I am sitting in front of the keyboard, I can’t remember a single one of them. I can tell you this though, the 5th Penny Arcade collection, entitled “The Case of The Mummy’s Gold” is out and it’s great. I really like what those dudes do, and what I like even more is how they just do it, and let it be done. They don’t get involved in the politics or “scene” of webcomic creators. They just do their thing. I respect that.
In other news, I ordered the complete Strangers In Paradise (6 volumes) off of Amazon, and they arrived today! I’m pretty stoked about it, Terry Moore is a tremendous writer. I’ve read most of the first volume (in preparation for our recent interview with Terry on The Watchtower) and its a really great book. There is so much more to it than meets the eye, and he uses other mediums within the comic (poetry, prose, even songs) to take it to the next level. It’s really cool, and I can’t wait to dive into it. Hopefully it will last me a little longer than Bone. Even and 1300+ pages, I still managed to race through it. I had to though! It was so good!!
OK, I’m going to wrap up the random. I’m getting out of town for the weekend, so hopefully a few days in the northern air will clear the jumbles in my head, and I’ll make more sense when I get back. But then again, that would be pretty boring, wouldn’t it?
In closing, I just want to say something that I don’t say enough, and probably can’t ever say enough: Thank you. We had a great conversation with a fan tonight, and it just reminded me how lucky we are to have the support of folks like yourselves who are nice enough to lock eyeballs on our little corner of the internet once in a while. Seriously, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
All right, enough mushy crap. I outta here!
