Isn’t history fun? I can only imagine a world without Hooters. It’s a dark, dank place that I never want to visit again. Even in nightmares. Actually, truth be told, I don’t think I’ve ever been to a Hooters even though we have a lovely one here in Toronto. I think a field trip is in order.
So guess where I went on the weekend? If you said “the bar,” you were wrong! No, I went to the 4th Annual Joe Shuster Canadian Comic Book Creator Awards. Our good friends Lar DeSouza and Ryan Sohmer were nominated in the Outstanding Canadian Webcomic category, and I am pleased to say they won! They got the nod for both Least I Could Do, and Looking For Group. I have huge amounts of love and respect for those dudes, and it was really great to see them win. It’s only the second year that they have had that category, and it’s well deserved for both of those hard working guys. Check out the Facebook Group for some sweet pics!
On to other things, I want to give you all a big heads up on our next chance to hang out. We’ll have a table at the Paradise Toronto ComiCON July 12th and 13th. It’s also our chance to make a big announcement about No Reason, one that we have been working our asses off to make happen, so I hope that some, if not all of you can come down and say hello!
Anyone catch American Gladiators last night? We saw the debut of a new Gladiator, Hurricane and the new event Snapback. Hurricane lived up to his name, in that he kinds blows. Snapback was entertaining only because it ended with the launching of Justice and Titan into the air. Does anyone else get the feeling Titan is the guy in the locker room the other dudes don’t tell where the party is? Just a feeling I’m getting.
On the way out, I wanna give a big thanks to No Reason fan Eli Green who gave us a mention in his article Rising Gas Prices and The Future of Comic Books. See kids? You do stuff for us, and we publish your name on Teh Intranets! How cool is that?
