Free Comic Book Day.

What can I say that isn’t said here? I had a blast, Jamie got wet, I got some sweet free comics, Jamie got wetter. It’s true, there was rain. It wasn’t bad for the first couple of hours, but by about 1pm, the torrential downpours had started, and things took a turn for the worse. there were a few people who came out in spite of the rain, and I can’t thank them enough for swinging by to say hello. All in all, in spite of the weather, we both had a great time, and can’t wait to do it again next year! Special thanks to Todd, and all the good folks at Image Collections. They do a hell of a job, and we are really grateful that we were asked to participate!

So onward and upward! Did you see Iron Man on the weekend? We sure did! What a great movie! It had action, great acting by a great cast, and it was very true to the comics. I think Hollywood is realizing that when it comes to making comic book movies, it’s all right there on the page. The story, the characters, everything, is right there on the page. Just bring it to life! Just a couple of nitpicky things: Why was the final fight at night? It was hard to tell what was going on at some points. And second, how come Gwenyth Paltrow turned into Olive Oyl in the last 15 minutes of the flick? Just wondering.

Also, I’m sure most of you stayed until after the credits for the extra scene with Nick Fury. If you didn’t, you were obviously at the movie with someone who is not as smart as Lar, because he made sure we stuck around. Do I think this extra scene was a good thing? The fanboy in me says yes. The logical thinker in me, not so much. Slide on over to The Watchtower site, and check out what I really think.

OK, I know it’s a short post, but I’ll be dead honest. The weekend was crazy busy, and I am asleep at the wheel right now. I’m heading to bed, but not before I leave you with some of the pics from Free Comic Book Day!
