I love them. I really, really do. They gave me life (a gift they threatened to take back more than a few times), taught me right from wrong, and have been my Number 1 fans a supporters. But sometimes, I have to wonder what they hell they are thinking. The best part of this is, without even asking, I know which one of them picked out this particular piece of greeting card gold. It should also be noted that they sent me another card that was much nicer, so clearly they get the joke. It’s nice to have parents with a sense of humor. I know a lot of folks how aren’t lucky in that regard, so it’s just one of the many ways I’m thankful that I got to grow up in their care.
So as the card indicates, this past weekend was my birthday, and also the day of a blinding snowstorm here in our fair city. In spite of it all though, a couple of us managed to trek out and take in some of the Canadian Music Week festivities. We saw a great set by Melissa Bel on Friday, and Saturday was The Saint Alvia Cartel. A great time was had at both events, and overall, probably one of the best birthdays I’ve spent in a while. Here’s to that!
Also, I was blessed with a copy of Robot Chicken Season 1, so I have been watching that non-stop for the last few days. It’s warped me, but I regret nothing. Not since Scrubs have I been able to pop on a TV DVD and watch it start to finish more than once and still find it hilarious. That says something for those dudes. Also, if you are a fan of Robot Chicken, and haven’t checked out the Twisted Toyfare Theatre comics, I would highly recommend them. It’s similar to Robot Chicken, but in Comic form, and they did it first, so I guess you could call it a precursor or something. I dunno, just buy it.
Thanks everyone for your great suggestions in the Name That Ulcer Contest. We’ll keep taking submissions until Tuesday and then announce the winner with Friday’s strip. That lucky person will win their very own signed “Carfighter” print. If you haven’t seen it already, you can check out the artwork here.
All right, I don’t know if it’s Daylight Saving Time or what, but I have been tired as all hell lately, and my bed is calling me. Good night, and Good luck.
