I know that every week, literally a couple of you settle down with a bag full o’popcorn and tune into our little podcast, The Watchtower. It’s on 10pm EST on Punkradiocast.com, or you can just click that word at the top of this page that says “The Watchtower.” Initially we were going to go with “click here for super-hyper-mega-intense-podcast-awesomeness” but figured we’d just keep it simple.

Any way, we talk about comics, and gaming, and various other things that a guaranteed not to get us laid. This week though, I am really proud of the production of the show. I found a whole bunch of clips from the old X-Men cartoon, and worked them in with the score from 300. Couple that with the fact that we spent 2/3 of the program talking about Captain America’s clothes, and it’s about as much geek-ing as humanly possible within a 30 minutes period. And while I’m on the subject, let me sum up what I think of the New-Look Cap:

IT’S AWESOME!!!!

If you haven’t seen the pics, click on that sweet icon to your right that says “No Reason Facebook Group” and have a gander. I think it’s a really cool modernization of the character, all the while harkening back to the old-school. The V-shape of the chest plate is a nod to Cap’s original shield, and the fact the the wings remain affixed to his head blows my mind. Couple all that with the black gear underneath, giving Cap a very modern special-ops type look, and I think we’ve got a winner. However, it doesn’t really compare to the mystery of who might be under said new mask. Here’s how I see it breaking down:

90% – The Winter Soldier (Bucky, Cap’s old sidekick)
- Clint Barton (formerly Hawkeye, currently Ronin)
4% – Tony Stark (Iron Man, Director of S.H.E.I.L.D.)
1% – Someone Else (?????)
..5% – Questy (Donnie Coulter)
..25% – Murph
..25% – Boba Fett (Why Boba Fett? Why the hell not? How awesome would THAT be? NOBODY would see THAT coming!!)

So there it is. I know most of you have no idea what I’m talking about and that’s fine. You should head out to your local comic shop and get caught up. Seriously, if you have never read a comic, now is the time to jump on. There are a lot of REALLY cool stories coming up, and once it’s over, now will be known as The Golden Age, The Best of Times, before everyone was revealed to be a F*ckin’ Skrull, and it ended up all being a dream.

Still not a F*cking Skrull,

-MM
