Fan Expo.
Where to begin?
Obviously, the best part of the Expo was getting to meet people, and introduce them to our world. It has energized us both so much to be able to see the positive reception that No Reason got, and we are already digging into the next big thing.
The highlight for me though (with the exception of Supergirl, of course) was the sketching, which we will be featuring all week. It was so cool to see people interesting in the original art and prints. Some of the sketch requests were… different, to say the least, but in the end they all came out amazingly, and it blows my mind that such quality art was produced on demand like that. Just more proof that I did the right thing in hitching my wagon to the real talent.
Even Dizzle seemed to be having fun, handing out Watchtower flyers, and doing up some Guest Strips that will soon be coming to light. He is a very talented artist in his own right, and I hope we can put that to good use in the coming months and years.
Finally, I’ve been told that if I say “Thank You” and more times, that certain people are going to puke. Well to those people, I simply say get your barf-bags ready, because I cannot express my gratitude enough to anyone who has ever read this strip, laughed out loud, or spent some of their hard earned cash on our likenesses. It is an indescribable feeling to know that someone in Africa, Japan, South America, and who knows where else, is looking at your work and having a chuckle the same way you did. I can’t thank all of you, wherever you are, enough for being kind enough to do so.
And to the friends we made, Lar, Ryan, G, Steph, Vince, Adonis, Alex, Nick, Supergirl (Hilary), Cute Girl from The Dress Stand Across The Aisle, Arc Trooper, Raccoon Dude, Zombie Puppet Girl, Conan, Purple Dress Lady, and all the rest that are to numerous to mention, you guys made the Expo something extra special that we will not forget for a long, long time.
’til then,
-MM
