HHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY EEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEERRRRRYYYYYYYY ONNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEE!

Sorry, a little more slow-motion humor there (very little as it turns out).

So over the weekend, we officially initiated The Dizzle into the No Reason Mafia, uh, Family (yeah, that’s it, family). By that I mean he came up to HQ got a feel for the place, batted around a few ideas, and of course, consumed an unhealthy amount pizza and wings.

I don’t know if it was the introduction of this new blood, or simply the damp spring air, but it was insanely productive. You are going to see so many changes in the coming weeks to the website, the strip, the podcast, any any other little thing we can find a way to f*ck with. I would stop short at saying we are looking at the dawn of No Reason 2.0, but it is going to be damn close, and a hell of a lot of fun.

On a somewhat more personal note (OK, and entirely personal note) this week is a special time of year for me. If you weren’t in the loop, my “Day Job” is working at Newstalk 1010 CFRB, the premiere Talk Radio station in Canada, located right here in the beautiful city of Toronto. This week is our 21st Annual Radiothon for the Toronto Hospital For Sick Children. Starting Wednesday at 6am, we will start broadcasting live from the Atrium at Sick Kids until 5pm Friday when we join our sister stations Mix 99.9, and 97.3 EZ Rock in a 3-way Simulcast.

This Radiothon is a huge undertaking, and pretty much runs us ragged for the 3 days it’s on, but is so very worth it. It really is the most important thing we do all year. Last year, we set a North American fundraising record by raising $3.5 Million for the hospital in 3 days, and this year we are aiming to do it again.

I’m not asking anyone for donations, or to join the Miracle Club, but if you have a few minutes, go over to www.cfrb.com and check out some of the info. You can listen live via the website to the broadcast, and a few other bits of audio. Just have a listen to some of these kids’ stories. At the very least it’s a testament to the courage and strength of these children, and the people who have dedicated their lives to taking care of them. It’s a fight and a burden that most of us will never know, and to be able to have a part in recognizing and giving a helping hand to both the staff and the patients is an absolute honour for a shmoe like me.

All right, I just wanted to get that out there. Next time: a return to boobies and fart jokes.

Until then, stay safe or name it after me.
